Fluid

Everything is fluid, in movement and fading. To avoid floods, we built dams as break lines. We built breakpoints in computer programmes, and we have the art of breakdance. In Fluid, Indian song and breakdance come together in a new form, an area of tension between energy flows, bound in vulnerability and strength. Choreographer Kalpana Raghuraman made a dance performance with as much Shiva as Shakti and as much hip hop dance as Indian song. In this performance, it is never the one of the other. It is a fluid symbiosis with flexible groundwork and broken lines in shoulder stands.
“Kalpana Raghuraman created two short duets for a dancer and musician. In Fluid she shows where breakdance and Indian dance touch each other and fade.”
"Besides the powerful body of Karadeniz, Indian singer Shashwathi Jagadish shares the stage. In contrast to his impressive shoulder stands, explosive jumps and dynamic arm movements in which breakdance moves mix with mudhras and flowing lines, she sets her smile and her bright, wavy sweet voice."
