Choreographer, dancer and Gouden Leeuw-winner Alessandro Sciarroni brings with Save the last dance for me, in collaboration with Giancarlo Stagni, a master of Filuzziani dance, new life into the ancient Bologna tradition Polka Chinata. A courtship dance, initially danced by men only dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Physically challenging, almost acrobatic, where the dancers embrace each other while they bent their knees almost to the ground.

Alessandro Sciarroni discovered this dance when he watched some old documentary videos from the eighties back in 2018. Only five persons practice this dance in Italy. With Save the last dance for me, Sciarroni hopes to save this once popular dance from oblivion.
