An ode to the lively culture. Gery Mendes goes with the soulful TimeTravelin from then back to now and from never to forever. Gery and his eight-headed band made a performance about growing up at West-Kruiskade in Rotterdam, a place that once represented all the faces of the world. That world changes and becomes more similar. ‘Fawaka’ turns into ‘how are you’, ‘Salam Alaikum’ into ‘hello’. A musical theatre performance about collected memories, mixed with the soul we are used of this MC and singer.

Gery is MC, singer, producer and actor. He published two albums named This is not an album… this is a phase (2007) en Caminho (2014). Besides his solo performances, he shared the stage with Winne, Kyteman, Pete Philly & Perquisite. During the finale of the Grote Prijs van Nederland, he received the Beste Muzikantenprijs in 2016. Expect raw hip hop, consisting of a unique mix of singer-songwriter, afro, jazz and rock.
Gery Mendes played at a diversity of big festivals in the Netherlands and abroad, such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Oerol, Couleur Café (Belgium) and Cultura Urbana (Spain). He acted in the Dutch film Carmen van het Noorden and the play Nina Simone (A)live. He also toured with the musicals Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story and Flashdance.
