TussenTijdCapsule (4+)
Schippers&VanGucht | NL
Somewhere between here and the future, between present and past, between then and now, lies the TussenTijdCapsule. A crack in the wall, a hop-skip-jump in time. Because some things don’t happen in an orderly chronological fashion, but rather exist alongside each other. You are the ‘you’ you are now, but also the ‘you’ you once were and the ‘you’ that you will become. Step into the TussenTijdCapsule to understand exactly what we mean. Let time travellers Schippers&VanGucht guide you on the trip of your life. Don’t worry, you will get lost. Schippers&VanGucht are local returning performers at our festival. Their catching and imaginative performances make visitors always return for more!
Free entrance
Daily access is free from 1 pm to 2 pm for people with a small budget. Start is every 15 minutes. Get your ticket at the box office of the Block Boxes.
You enter the TussenTijdCapsule together, an adult and a child. You climb a ladder to the entrance and once you are inside you are guided by many Small Masters on small floors through the connecting machine. Here, children feel like fish in water and the adults crawl around clumsily. You need a child to guide you through the corridors of the installation and to help you remember the skill of discovering.
Schippers&VanGucht create captivating performances that initiate a dialogue between generations about resourcefulness and the ability to change opinions: essential characteristics to tackle social issues. The immersive works by Schippers&VanGucht make it possible to freeze a moment in time and shift perspectives.
Schippers&VanGucht strike where you least expect them: in the street, at car parks and on the playground around the corner. In the first editions of Boulevard, they performed at different locations in the city. This year, they are guests at the pink Boulevard Block Box in the Zuiderpark.
"Schippers&VanGucht know how to make various elements of your childhood touchable within fifteen minutes, which results in a fun as well as an emotional experience."
