PACHAMAMA

PACHAMAMA: An Ode to Mother Earth combines live music by ensemble A sonic Oasis with soundscapes, poetry, songs, visuals and dance. The performance is inspired by invocation rituals made by shamans and by the honor that some indigenous cultures pay to Mother Earth.
PACHAMAMA is a word coming from the Quechua and Aymara indigenous people from South America and means Mother Earth. Native American people believe in the power of sound to connect and venerate the Earth, and by doing so, heal ourselves and our society.
PACHAMAMA: An Ode to Mother Earth is a live meditation that uses the four elements of nature (water, air, earth and fire) to connect with nature and acknowledge our responsibility towards a better and more sustainable world.
This performance is one of the six Fontys Finals, graduation works by students from Fontys Academy of the Arts. Fontys Finals is a part of Future Feels, a daily programme by new performing art talent in which art students and festival meet, where future artists create, present and exchange.
