Brothers
Threading Theatre | NL
Brotherhood is a central theme in the performance Brothers which focuses on competition, intimacy, and collaboration. Recognisable for anyone who can find a piece of themselves in the theme of brotherhood.
Dancers Justin de Jager and Peer Jonkers dance to live music by composer Andreas Tegnander. The piece is embodied by the movement concept threading, derived from breakdance. In threading, you create a physical opening by connecting several body parts and passing through it with another body part. They thread limbs together in various ways, creating fluid, but sometimes struggling, movement sequences that take you into a hypnotic trance.
Brothers is a duet by the collective Threading Theatre, founded by Justin de Jager, acclaimed breaker Sem Deliveyne and sound artist Andreas Tegnander.
