DEEP/END is an exercise in interdependence. We do not know what the future holds but one thing is certain: if we have to take a leap of faith, we will take it together. Club Gewalt and De Dansers find each other in an exhilarating and thriving march toward the future, which must resonate and move forward. Inspired by the musical pieces The Planets: Mars by Gustav Holst and the Bolero by Maurice Ravel, the bodies and sounds of ten performers merge into a musical and dance-like relay. With the softly overwhelming dance of De Dansers, the anarchic voices of Club Gewalt and a shared belief in music, the distinction between individuals disappears.

The Utrecht based company De Dansers is known for their danced concerts in which they tell accessible, instinctive compelling stories about liberation and transcendence, with a touch of anarchism. In 2023, De Dansers enchanted the Boulevard audience with their performance Hush in the Populierencirkel in the Zuiderpark.

The Rotterdam based music and performance collective Club Gewalt is fascinated by pop culture and the perception of millennials. They create universes in which various genres and disciplines intersect and create a new sensory experience. They previously performed at Boulevard with their performances Die Hexe (2021) and Mini Miss Miraculous (2022). Besides this, the worked together with Het Zuidelijk Toneel for Drei, vier, flirt mit mir (2022).

“What an unforgettable experience with De Dansers, Club Gewalt and all the audience in the space. The performance was full of energy, laugh, cry, feeling this fragiliness, love, playful, giggle, uncertain.. can’t describe what I am feeling with words right now. But there were definitely humans, real and honesty. Which makes me feel we’re okay to be angry, sad, fragile and unsure sometimes. All the dance, voices, musicians connections between each other took me somewhere I’ve never been.”
