Simon Bus |
Self-portrait, Man on Orange Floor and Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor are two danced portraits created by the dancer Simon Bus in which a limited stage of a 2x2 frame.
Dancer Simon Bus is fascinated by portraits. A share of his work consists of motion portraits of which Self-portrait, Man on Orange Floor (2019) and Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor (2023) are a part. The starting point of Simon’s work is the discomfort of daily life. The game between having and losing control is a returning subject. Sharp, brutal, and humoristic. Simon works with dancers with similar movements, often from hip hop. He extends the ideas about breakdance with his exploratory gaze and flexible body. Simon Bus is one the choreographers of Corpo Máquina and performs in Bolistas.
Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor
Simon bus created Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor for and with the Norwegian dancer Balder Hansen. Balder struggles with his ability to keep balance and manage his body on a framed 2x2 floor. Balder is a young and experimental dancer. His background is in hip-hop, but as he gets older, he becomes increasingly interested in scenic and expressive approaches. This has shaped him into an intuitive performer, who knows how to mix different styles and techniques.
