Papa was a rolling stone
Minoux |
With Papa was a Rolling Stone, MINOUX presents her research into the relationship between father and son. After the mothers in performance Leer me dans van je moeder in 2021, it is now the fathers' turn.
MINOUX spent the past year talking to the city's sons about their fathers. Who are they really? A role model or a man you don't even know how to spell his name? Maasja Ooms filmed portraits of these sons' stories.
And the fathers have their say too. Singing this time because as John Lennon said: "Talking is a bad form of communication, music is better." Composers Robbert Klein (a.o. Club Gewalt) Sinem Altan ( Atzemusiktheater Berlin) Erik Vlasblom (arranger and pianist ) plunge into the sons' stories and the fathers' songs.
A Bildungskonzert for anyone with a father.
Papa was a Rolling Stone is the outcome of a theatrical investigation as part of our Lijn 73 projects, in which we work with creators who have, or want to develop, a special commitment to the city. Besides Boulevard, this project is also supported by the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch and Theater aan de Parade.
Next year, MINOUX concludes the trilogy Mother, Father, Children with the performance Parental Pardon: a court docu opera in which the children sue their parents in the children's court for negligent parenting.
Minou is part of Lijn73, in which we work with makers who have or want to develop a special commitment to the city. This year these makers also seek out specific groups as audiences or co-makers in projects. This way Theaterfestival Boulevard continues to delve into and connect with the city and its inhabitants.
