The Upsessions have been inspired by early reggae from the 1960s. Big inspirations are The Upsetters, The Meters, The Skatalites, Desmond Dekker and Toots and the Maytals. In late 2013, they collaborated with reggae icon and Grammy winner Lee 'scratch' Perry and made their album Shake It! They are much better known abroad than in homeland the Netherlands because of their many tours in Europe and the fact that they are under contract at Ska record label MoonSkaWorld, It makes us extra happy to be able to bring them to Boulevard. The timeless early reggae, ska, funk, calypso, soul and the infectious energy of The Upsessions always blows away young and old everywhere, making this band suitable for every festival.
