3+1 (AL)
Tête-bêche | DE/NL
In 3+1, Tête-bêche combines the game of the diabolo with their specialisation in partner acrobatics. On a round stage, the three players develop an exciting combination with the well-known juggling object with the sticks.
Tête-bêche discovered that they, as partner acrobats, had something in common with the diabolo, namely: without a (fellow) player, the diabolo cannot do what it does. This is why they made the diabolo their fourth player, putting both the partner acrobat and the diabolo in a whole new light.
As a spectator, you get to see hypnotic choreography interspersed with spectacular moments, with not only the diabolo, but also the acrobats themselves flying through the air. In 3+1, high acrobatic technique and a great focus on movement take centre stage.
The trio Tête-bêche consists of Marieke Thijssen, David Mupanda and Wilko Schütz, all three graduated from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam. They have been working together since 2017 for various companies and projects at home and abroad. With their act Carmen, they were awarded the special jury prize at the 42nd circus festival Mondial de cirque de demain in Paris. 3+1 is their latest creation.
