LUCHT (4+)

What is air? In the performance LUCHT, two little creatures find out. From breathing and whistling to farting. But to whom does the air actually belong? And can it be caught? Then the previously invisible air suddenly becomes very tangible between them and it's every man for himself.
The performance is about making something out of nothing and making the world believe it has value. LUCHT is a wordless and dance-like performance about everything and nothing. Two happy creatures try to catch air, to keep it, to cherish it. Until they become attached to it and become the plaything of the forces of air themselves...
Artist Merel Denie was nominated in 2017 for the Henriette Hustinx Prize, an annual award given to students of art courses at Maastricht Hogeschool Zuyd. LUCHT was her project she graduated with as Master of Theatre at the Toneelacademie Maastricht.
