ONE SONG: Histoire(s) du Théâtre IV was named one of the beste theatre performances in 2022 by the New York Times. The performance is based on Miet Warlop's previous work Sportband/Afgetrainde klanken, a reqiuem for her brother who passed away in 2006.

Location Maaspoort Den Bosch (sporthal)
Running time 60 min.
Genre Vieren, Ongewone locaties

In ONE SONG eight performers enter the arena. Together they will give everything via sung text, images and objects, oxygen and sweat. The performance is a combination of a concert and a sports competition in which time is challenged and boundaries are pushed. All this with the encouragement of a group of supporters, a cheerleader, and live commentary. Miet Warlop invites the public to form a community and create unity in diversity.

ONE SONG is nominated for the VSCD Mime/Performance Prize 2023. The jury stated: "This absurdistic mix between a popconcert and a sports competition is a gripping protest against the rushing pace of life and all it demands from a human being. The murmuring stadium speaker, the lone male cheerleader and the collective choreography of the cheering crowd in the sports stands are witty and alienating."

There is a shuttle bus which departs from the Zuiderpark to the Maaspoort, this shuttle bus departs 45 minuten prior to the performance.

Loud music is used in this performance. Free earplugs are available at the location.

"Loud, absurd and extremely entertaining"

The New York Times

"One Song is a raging trip that requires quite a bit of commitment from the audience, but which, judging by the standing ovation and the enthusiastic reactions, comes as an uppercut. Warlop, together with her theatre family, has succeeded in channeling a dormant sadness into a smashing performance."
