Une nuit entière (A whole night)

Une nuit entière is a performance like a night. We live by touch, grip on time is not possible. A night in which your senses are tuned differently than during the day, with a delicate sensitivity and intimacy that slumbers and awakens dreams. How do you depict a woman's body if it is not in the light, if it is not (entirely) visible but can be experienced? Finally, dawn is shining.  

The space is circular, like a campfire around which we gather for warmth or for telling and hearing stories. The women are like the flames around which we are gathered, and at the same time they are the stories that are told. They kindle and still each other, they conceive and absorb each other. With their dance, they break the female template we know so well. 

Tatiana Julien is a French dancer and choreographer, a graduate of the Paris National Dance Conservatoire and Paris University VIII. In addition to her work, she has performed and collaborated with Cie 7273, Nathalie Pernette, Thomas Lebrun and Sylvain Prunenec. Today, she dances for Olivia Grandville and Boris Charmatz. In 2011, she founded her company Interscribo. 

Anna Gaïotti is an artist, choreographer, dancer and writer. She expresses her artistic language through text, dance and music. Her physical work deals with her experiences of living and dancing in nightlife (techno, prostitution), and more recently her life in Ethiopia. 

The performance uses stroboscopes.

Une nuit entière by Tatiana Julien and Anna Gaïotti has its Dutch premiere on Wednesday the 9th of August at 20:30h.

This project takes place in the frame of the Feminist Futures Festival which is part of the apap - Feminist Futures, a project co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
