Ways To Submit
Ira Brand | GB/NL
In what ways do we submit physically, psychologically, sexually and socially? And how do we take the lead? An intriguing and exciting performance by Ira Brand [GB, 1983].
In what ways do we give in physically, psychologically, sexually and socially? How do we take charge? How does language, gender and desire affect that ragged and sometimes rough play? And who actually has the right to 'play'? In her performance Ways To Submit, Ira Brand surrenders herself to a game of power and surrender. Her seductive invitation: join in the fantasy, the game, the dialogue and the fight, to explore the multifaceted nature of power. As an international maker, performer and writer, Ira never avoids social and societal issues. The aim: to stimulate critical thinking, but also to conquer space for pleasure.
Ways To Submit is an exciting, social game, also for the passive viewer
