Mini Miss Miraculous
Club Gewalt | NL
From shrinkage comes cramp, cry conservative economists. But Club Gewalt takes a broader view. In her performance Mini Miss Miraculous, shrinkage is salvation.
For the members of the Rotterdam performance company Club Gewalt, it is obvious. If we want to save the earth from extinction, the human body will have to shrink to fifty centimetres in height. A tall order, especially in the Netherlands - men are on average 1.84m tall, women 1.71m. Fortunately, the oracle Mini Miss Miraculous is restless in her mission. With hypnotic hyper pop songs and enchanting choreographies, she proclaims her message. Club Gewalt, which always attracts a lot of attention, has previously been on Boulevard with work-out opera Yuri, ecstatic concert Wir Sind Amazone and punk party Die Hexe, a project by Herr Hamsterfleisch, alter ego of club member LouLou.
Their work looks like nothing else on the European stage, and with any luck, an international career beckons.
