Theaterfestival Boulevard returns to the city with the 40th edition

In August Theaterfestival Boulevard will return to the city center. After three beautiful years in the Zuiderpark, the festivalheart will return to the Parade.

The past three years Boulevard has built their festivalheart in the Zuiderpark, with a dependency on the Parade and performances throughout the city. The renovation of Theater aan de Parade and the, prompted by the pandemic, call for space made the temporary shift to the park. The Parade will soon be free of fences, Theater aan de Parade has opened their doors, and this year Boulevard will celebrate it’s 40^th edition. A perfect moment to return to the city. The Parade will once again become the festivalheart and the boundaries will be stretched to different locations in the surrounding streets and squares. Also there will be location performances at special places throughout the city. 

“The Zuiderpark has given the festival a beautiful green and spacious environment for three years. In the circle of poplars many artists have shown performances on a fairytale stage, the floating bar was a popular destination and the walk along the many theatre tents and restaurants made a pleasant festival experience for a big audience. We shall miss the space and the contact with the neighbors. But we also look forward to a return to the familiar city and Parade, a place where the festival could place their tents for over 35 years. We return happily”, directors Tessa Smeulers and Dana Kibbelaar.

The Boulevard team is busy with plans for next summer. The festival is celebrating its 40th anniversary, an edition that looks back, but most of all looks forward to the future. From Thursday 1 to Sunday 11 August 2024, 's-Hertogenbosch once again will be the place for meetings, theatre, music and more.
