20 April 2023

Following the resignation of Femke den Boer, two new members joined the Supervisory Board of Theatre Festival Boulevard on 1 April. Besides current members Heleen Herbert (chair), Rick Evers, Jeroen Mathot and Paulo Martina, Ricardo Burgzorg and Marieke Tetteroo now join.

Ricardo Burgzorg

Ricardo Burgzorg is a cultural entrepreneur with experience in intercultural policy and initiating, developing and producing cultural projects. As a producer, he was associated with De Nieuw Amsterdam, but made the switch to the Volksbuurtmuseum in The Hague in 1997. He started his own company, über blick in 2015 and, among other things, developed the collector's project My first Art Collection and launched and produced the Indian Film Festival The Hague. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as diversity project officer at Fonds Podiumkunsten. Ricardo has a broad socio-cultural orientation evidenced by positions as advisor to, among others, the Raad voor Cultuur, Prins Bernard Cultuurfonds, Rotterdamse Raad voor Kunst en Cultuur, Nederlands Filmfonds, and the Nederlandse Letterenfonds. He has also held supervisory positions at Musical Makers and De Parade.

Marieke Tetteroo

Marieke Tetteroo has been visiting Boulevard for years. "For me, Boulevard can no longer be left out of this city's (cultural) agenda, nor my agenda. I have seen the festival gain more and more foundation in the Bossche society and also far beyond. I therefore gladly became a best friend of the festival together with my husband." With her position in the Bossche city council 15 years ago, Marieke worked hard for a recognisable financial contribution from the municipality to give a much-needed boost to the festival. "Festivals like this give a city colour and cachet. But it is more, this festival also makes a clear connection with (local) society; an important development that should not stagnate. This connection arises from performances and encounters in diverse locations; neighbourhoods, districts, squares and parks. Cultural cement for society!" From her role as a member of the Supervisory Board, she also wants to remain committed to this, because in addition to a cultural value, she believes the festival also has a social and economic value. She sees Boulevard as a stage for makers and visitors where social commitment can be created and expressed.

The entire team of Theaterfestival Boulevard warmly welcomes Ricardo and Marieke to the Supervisory Board.
